MovableType 4.2 open source version released.
The upgrade is simple as before.

I tried a publish whole site. It took 22 seconds only. Fast with the default templates.

You may already knew MovableType 4.2 beta. Now it is rc4.

Click http://www.movabletype.org/beta/42/ to download the rc4 and install/upgrade your MovableType test site.

I did it just five minutes ago.

The upgrade is simply and fast.

The only thing I have to note is the templates are different.
Refresh the whole templates to factory setting and rebuild it.

MovableType 4.1 release

It is time to upgrade the Movable Type from 4.01a to 4.1.

The upgrade is very smooth on this testing blog. I have 4.1 rc1 before. So upgrading is a piece of cake. Just copy the new files and overwrite the old one.

MovableType 4.1 beta 2

Just one day, I found the beta 2 is coming.

I don't waste any minutes to download it and upgrade this test bed.

It is fast to download MovableType 4.1 beta 2 here or official site.

The steps I did in my DreamHost is Just three steps to upgrade from Beta 1 to Beta 2
1)  wget http://www.movabletype.org/downloads/MT-4.1b2-en.tar.gz

2) tar xvzf MT-4.1b2-en.tar.gz

3)  cp -r -f ./MT-4.1b2-en/ ./mtcgi/

Then just go to the Firefox, to login and the system will update the Database and finish.




MovableType 4.1 beta

To upgrade my old MT 4 is impossible, because the templates and tag system are different. I don't want to change the templates manually.

So, I backup this blog by exporting. Then installed the brand new MovableType 4.1 beta which I downloaded here.

I will post more of MovableType 4.1  later.

Welcome to my new blog powered by Movable Type. This is the first post on my blog and was created for me automatically when I finished the installation process. But that is ok, because I will soon be creating posts of my own!
